I plan to run for City Council in the election set for November 3, 2026. Annette's term on the council ends this year and she will be stepping down from her seat. I would like to continue our family's service by replacing her on the council. The official qualifying period is in August, but it's not too early to begin getting ready.

Ball Ground City government is going through some very big changes. Long-term leaders, who accomplished fantastic things for our town, have recently retired. A bypass to downtown is in planning and will begin construction in the next several years — a transformative event for the City. At the same time, residential growth across the region is putting pressure on roads and other infrastructure, and raising concerns about maintaining the quality of life here.

I believe we can navigate these changes and direct growth and development to retain all the best parts of living in Ball Ground, while keeping it a welcoming and inviting place for everyone. But that won't happen if we simply react to things as they happen — we urgently need to start looking ahead and planning for 3, 10, and 20 years out.

The most recent generation of leadership accomplished many things. They built a sewer system and funneled resources into developing our bustling and inviting downtown. They ensured the new Ball Ground school remained in the city rather than on the outskirts — the result is a school that is a crown jewel in the county's system and a vital, central part of our community. And they assembled a great city staff that quietly and professionally manages essential City business and delivers first-class services to residents.

But we cannot simply relax and enjoy the fruits of those past labors. Much work needs to be done to preserve and build upon the amazing progress and improvements I've witnessed since growing up here in the 1970s.

We have time before the election, but it will probably fly by. I want to speak personally with as many of you as I can over the next couple of months, to find out what's most important to you as Ball Ground enters its next phase.
